Plantar Fasciitis
- An inflammation of plantar fascia (band of tissue under the foot)
- Commonly starts as a bruised feeling under the heel and can develop into chronic heel pain
Pronation
- Action of the foot "rolling in"
- Need a certain amount of this to be able to function "normally"
- Abnormal amounts of pronation can cause pain in feet, knees and legs
Diabetes Mellitus
- Can cause changes in feet and legs
- One of the common complications is peripheral neuropathy. This is a change to the nerves in the feet and legs. A loss of sensation is one example of possible changes associated with peripheral neuropathy from diabetes mellitus
Achilles Tendonitis
- Pain at the back of the heel
- Caused by an inflammation where the Achilles Tendon joins into the heel bone (calcaneus)
